Mais depuis que Valery m’a – nous a pour être plus exact – recommandé de prendre des photographies ou d’en collectionner, je considère le travail des photographes avec plus d’attention. « Voyage à l’intérieur de l’homme », l’exposition de Steve McCurry fait le tour du monde et la photographie de la jeune afghane prise près de Peshawar au Pakistan en 1984 est devenue une icône moderne qui orne les couvertures des principaux ouvrages sur le photojournalisme.
Je sais aussi combien l’EDITEUR porte d’intérêt à ce photographe de Philadelphie qui a voyagé dans le monde entier. Mais j’ai découvert également les photographies de femmes éthiopiennes dont les colliers ornent des corps de vierges sauvages et les restituent dans leur scandaleuse beauté. J’emporte le catalogue avec moi faute de pouvoir acheter les originaux.
I do not make enough time to visit exhibitions. But since Valery recommended that I – that we, to be exact – take or collect photographs, I have been looking closer at the work of photographers. Voyage around Man, the Steve McCurry exhibition, goes around the world, and the photograph of the young Afghan girl, taken near Peshawar in Pakistan in 1984, has become a modern icon, adorning the covers of the major works on photojournalism. I also know how much the PUBLISHER is interested in this Philadelphian photographer, who has travelled the world over. I also found photographs of Ethiopian women whose necklaces adorn their wild virgin bodies, and restores them in their scandalous beauty. I have taken the catalogue with me, for lack of being able to buy the originals.
