Je continue à apprécier l’automne du Baden-Würtemberg. Malgré tout, j’ai fait hier un aller et retour à Karlsruhe. Mais ce mois passé à Baden-Baden – un mois et trois jours pour être exact – est en quelque sorte l’équivalent de quelques journées dans le temps normal. Je pense que le bon docteur, dans sa correspondance, devait avoir inculqué l’idée du temps long à ses patients. Qu’est-ce qu’un mois en effet quand on cherche sa propre vérité ?
Pour seule nourriture intellectuelle Groddeck m’a quand même laissé une notice introductive pour alimenter notre prochaine conversation durant laquelle j’espère qu’il sortira les illustrations de sa boîte à images :

Pour ce comportement, les Français ont inventé le terme de « Galanterie ».
Valery m’avait déjà fourni des nouvelles signées Guy de Maupassant qui mettent en scène ce même phénomène dans les villes thermales françaises. Dois-je en conclure que certaines mœurs sont chose commune en Europe ? J’aurai certainement l’occasion d’y revenir quand je reviendrai en Italie…

I continue to enjoy the place and to rest in the beautiful atmosphere of the autumn in Baden-Würtemberg. Nevertheless, I made a round trip in Karlsruhe yesterday. But this last month in Baden-Baden – one month and three days to be precise – is in a way the equivalent of a few days in normal time. I think that the good doctor, in his correspondence, must have inculcated the idea of long time history to his patients. What one month could mean when one looks for his / her own truth?
For « intellectual food » Groddeck left me an introductory note in order to prepare our next conversation during which he will bring out the illustrations of his image box:

Valery had already supplied me with the short stories of Guy de Maupassant which stage the same phenomenon in the French thermal towns. Do I have to conclude that from it that certain customs are common thing in Europe? I shall have certainly the opportunity to come back to the point when I’ll return in Italy …
The small daily paragraph of Groddeck? Here it is: « What a difficulty to speak about the “That”! We pinch a rope at random and, instead of it, several ones get involved in the same tone, then they keep silent, unless they wake up others, still news, until occurs an improbable jumble where gets lost the spluttering of the word. »
